THE JOURNEY TO FAIR TRADE JEWELRY
Fair trade jewelry is something that I’ve wanted to incorporate into Chelsea Bond Jewelry for a very long time. As a student on Semester at Sea, I was privileged to see how people around the world, particularly in Vietnam and India, creating businesses with minimal resources.
It is with tremendous excitement that I share this news!
I created Chelsea Bond Jewelry with the goal of designing handcrafted jewelry that carried deep, meaningful connections to its recipients. Inspired by my passion for exotic coastlines and energy-healing, this journey has taken me directly to your hands and to some of the most beautiful spas, hotels and boutiques around the globe.
Each piece of jewelry is created with intention. From protective gemstones to those which are intended to assist in personal transformation and enlightenment, I select materials with the intention to uplift and bring positive energy into your life.
I have spent a countless amount of hours designing, handcrafting and connecting, along with all of the other ingredients that are required to run a small business. I have turned down many companies who have reached out to partner and manufacture my jewelry. None of them felt right. None of them aligned with the energy that I wanted my brand to share with the world.
Until now.
It is with the most excitement that I can now tell you that I have partnered with multiple fair trade artisans to assist in the some of the development and handcrafting of new jewelry from my designs. These fair trade partners are located around the world, employ artisans at fair wages and each piece of jewelry is ethically produced. After years of researching partnerships, I discovered two fair trade groups that fit exactly what I had been looking for in terms of creating employment for empowerment and change. Our partners go beyond fair trade to create jobs, provide training, and give back to their healthcare and education initiatives. Each piece of jewelry that is handcrafted by one of our fair trade partners will be noted in its description card. Each piece is designed by Chelsea Bond and handcrafted by fair trade artisans throughout Africa and Nepal.
