One of THE Biggest Threats to Modern Brides + 3 Ways to Treasure Your Bridal Status! July 16, 2012 – Posted in: Uncategorized

Not everyone wants to talk about it. It lives in your computer and quickly takes over your hands. In its severe cases, it even spreads to your family + friends.

There is a syndrome that is plaguing brides of all backgrounds and with modern technology, it threatens to overtake many more.

IT affects brides that are traveling to their destination weddings as well as brides getting married in their own backyards. In its severe cases, it even affects bridal parties.

What IS it you ask?

The “Zero-Element-Of-Surprise-Syndrome” or “ZEOSS” for short!  Wait, how DOES this happen you ask?

With our lives being overtaken by Pinterest and other sites showing us how to do everything from creating an entire house out of toothpicks (ok, that’s a stretch) to glueing glitter onto a phone charger (yeah, that one’s real), we are putting ourselves at risk during one of the most exciting times in our lives; our “I Do’s.”

Don’t worry. Help is on the way!

Read the following 3 questions. Close your eyes for a moment. Sit back in your chair and think about how you felt:

Remember how surprised you were when the question was popped?

Remember that feeling of bursting with excitement, celebration and exhilaration when you told your friends and family?

Why shouldn’t you feel that way again?

Here’s the good news, with the help of {Red-i}, YOU CAN!

Take note of the 3 easy tips below to help you de-stress, enjoy your weekends, and allow yourself (and your bridal party) to be surprised again!

  • ENJOY YOUR BRIDESMAIDS, DON’T EMPLOY THEM: While they’re there to help us through, remember a lot of times they are spending their time and/or money to help make YOUR dream day come true. A lot of behind-the-scenes planning goes into bridal showers, bachelorette parties and weddings in general, so make sure to thank them rather than offering a laundry list of their duties!

  • UNDERSTAND IT’S OK TO HAVE DOWNTIME: Allow yourself the luxury of having your accessories, dress, favors or anything else delivered to your doorstep (beautifully packaged of course). Don’t feel the need to run to 100 stores to find exactly what you’re looking for. Ask for recommendations and shop online. You might just be able to find exactly what you’re looking for, without wasting your precious time (and fighting through hordes of people).

  • TREAT YOURSELF LIKE A BRIDE: Sounds easy enough, right? Well, it’s harder than it looks sometimes. From finding the perfect wedding favors to arranging a seating chart that doesn’t provoke “Dad’s new girlfriend”, it seems like if you CAN do it all, why wouldn’t you? Wrong. Allow yourself to enjoy this time. There are plenty of pro’s out there who know the ins and outs of the industry and will happily pull the loose ends together for you. From wedding planners to personal jewelry consultants (moi), we’re all here to help you FEEL like the Bride that you are!
