St. Germain-des-Pres – Paris Inspired Custom Rhinestone Crystal & Lace Hair Band October 2, 2012 – Posted in: Uncategorized

This one of a kind commissioned wedding headband was designed with intricate lace, beading and rhinestone crystals. It was designed to highlight the beauty of the bride, her destination wedding and added a significant amount of romance to her bridal look.

Front + Backstory:

It has taken me awhile to write this post. It’s not because I didn’t want to, it’s because of the absolute obsession I developed when designing this one of a kind bridal hair accessory. It’s almost hard to put into words how hard I fell in love with this commissioned wedding hair band.

I was contacted by a Bombshell in Mexico who found out about {Red-i} By Chelsea through the ultra-fabulous team at The Main Event Cabo and A Baja Romance By Karla Casillas {where you can find some of my pieces currently on display and ready to purchase!} She informed me that she would be having her wedding in Cabo San Lucas; one of the dreamiest places in Mexico!

Channeling Paris; The Glamourous Design Begins:

Inspiration poured out of me as we discussed via email, the components that the Bombshell desired. Lace mixed with crystals and something fashion forward was all I needed to hear.

When thinking of how this design would begin, I thought about the shape of her face, the sparkles of light from the glowing sun and her gorgeous Vera Wang wedding gown. All of these elements were inspirations in the design. In addition, I closed my eyes and thought about Paris. I thought about the elegance, sophistication and a city that blends vintage + modern like no other!

St. Germain des Pres Neighborhood of Paris

Below, you will find some of the initial steps and eventually, the culmination of Bombshell + dream + inspiration. You will also find a description of the first looks to its Bombshell owner in regards to the inspiration:

“I created this hairband based on inspirations from my trip to Paris.  The St. Germain-des-Pres is a gorgeous district that was once bohemian and now one of the most fashionable.

It’s a mixture of vintage + modern details with the rhinestones giving the intricately embroidered lace an added exotic look. The floating flowers towards the face makes it appear as if you’ve stepped out of a romantic garden.

The placement I envision is how I have it worn lower on the head for a more bohemian feel. With your dress being fitted to your body without embellishments at the top but flaring at the bottom, this hairband gives you an added detail before you get to the bottom of the dress! The sun will be glistening off the crystals :)”

Delicately embroidered foral lace combined with rhinestone chains and a center small pendant combined for an effortlessly glamorous look. Crystal trim swoops around the sides before tying into a bow.

This accessory can be worn lower on the head for a bohemian style or as a more traditional headband. The bow is able to be tied low to the side or low towards the center of the head.

Rhinestone trim details down each side before tying into a bow. Rhinestone details at the bottom of the ribbon adds an additional special detail.
