Francisco – “Have Determination, Will Travel” May 1, 2012 – Posted in: Uncategorized

Good Morning {Red-i}’s! I had to share a little story, possibly inspired by the early bird that has apparently been me this morning.

Yesterday afternoon as I was designing I walked by our windows that look out to our pool. I saw something dark floating in the water. I looked closer and it appeared whatever it was, was actually trying to move. I ran out, realized it was this little guy (who I quickly named Francisco). I scooped him out with a net, gently freed him onto the deck and hoped, begged and pleaded for Francisco to live.

He shivered as the air slowly dried his feathers and it didn’t look promising. He was a tiny little finch that had his eyes closed so tightly as he was using every bit of energy to fight for his life. I sat by him and felt so terrible, but all the while hoping that he would muster up the strength to get up and fly. I kept my distance and watched every few minutes. About a half hour later when I saw he was no longer standing, I asked my husband to go check (I couldn’t bare the thought of seeing my little friend lose his battle). Just at that point, Francisco popped his little head up and TOOK OFF!! I was screaming and cheering from the inside as my two miniature dachshunds looked at me like I was crazy. The ironic part of this story is I’m petrified of birds.

Moral of the story, nothing is ever a lost cause and if you can help, do it. This is off topic from jewelry or hair accessories, but I had to share this incredible inspiration. Francisco was ironically the first thing on my mind this morning and hopefully, his story of triumph is now yours.
