If the title of this post doesn’t describe the fusion of eclectic cultures and styles…I don’t know what does!
This was a challenge I was extremely happy to take on. The destination wedding bride’s request was for a turquoise necklace that she could change into for her reception. I thought this was such a fabulous idea! Who needs to switch dresses for the reception when you can simply switch accessories! I could tell this fierce bride was comfortable with a bold design so I went for it. I mixed two cultures that I love as far as fashion, design and jewelry – Africa and Mexico. It was perfect for her wedding that was taking place at Maroma Beach (Mexico).
In addition to the reception necklace, she requested custom jewels to wear with her adorable Welcome Party cocktail dress (pics to come). We talked about fuchsia as an option and tying in gold for a POP of color. Ultimately I went with Grecian-style chandelier earrings with gorgeous fuchsia crystals and pearls that added a Bollywood Indian flair. For her bracelet, I designed a stretch bracelet that included mother of pearl, fuchsia crystals and various seed beads. I added a sexy chain which gave it even more of a bold, edgy design to compliment her dress.
When the discussion of shoes came up, we exchanged ideas and ultimately came up with shoe clips as the perfect addition! No need to purchase another pair of shoes…just add Shoe Couture! I handcrafted each flower with individual petals and freshwater pearls – the final touch to her Welcome Party ensemble. Check everything out below!
